Fanatics
People which are so convinced of their opinion or their beliefs that they do not tolerate others beside them. See also Tyrants.

"Fanatics" by Farid Boudjellal, a funny comic about this subject

Filters
I am currently trying to reactivate my programming knowledge. A promising project for the future could be the design of filters in display modules for graphics and sounds. There may be two ways to do that, the first way ist to decrease graphics resolution or add acoustic noise. Of course this decreases quality, but it can also spoil included cheating tricks to a point of ineffectiveness. The second, more difficult variant could detect certain technical methods, similar to virus detectors.

Fingerprint
The right wing of the police has already made efforts to include fingerprints in the ID card, fortunately without success so far. But a certain right-winger has managed to include two fingerprints in the traveller's pass after 2007. Besides the genetical fingerprint, this would be the second worst for an individualist who loves his freedom. Treated like a common criminal without apparent reason! I have also heard that fingerprints are taken now from people who move to the USA. If you have to deliver your fingerprint, Second Glue is useful to be applied first. After drying it forms a close connection with the skin. Of course, don't touch anything before the glue has dried or you will have a problem. :-) It may also be possible to form a latex glove with the fingerprints of someone else. In extreme situations, a fingerprint could be ruined permanently by a burn for example, the tissue forms scars and becomes worthless for criminalistic purposes. May hurt a little, but not as much as the loss of freedom. And regarding the genetical fingerprint: I would prefer killing myself before I let take my blood or even a single hair from control-hungry nazi types without good reason. See also Second glue, Freedom.

This guy WON'T get my fingerprints!

Fingerprint, genetical
The genetical fingerprint has already solved some capital crimes, but like with Video cameras right-wing forces plan an area-covering abuse of this disgracing technology which reduces humans to a chunk of stamped meat. They talk about obnoxious crimes like scratches in cars which would justify the creation of a genetical register, some day the crime of being born may be enough for these pigs. But genetical information can destroy existences in the wrong hands, for example a genetical disease may be the reason for never finding a job. I would never voluntarily and without a very good reason give away blood or other material, not even a single hair. I like my lion's mane, but if nobody is willed to guarantee personal integrity, I could also cut it and wear a wig without any problem and shave my bodily hairs or hide them under clothing. Excrements and water from showers could be collected and disposed or buried in inconspicious places. In the name of human dignity I protest with all might against a genetical database of the whole population or registration for minor crimes, see also Freedom, Democracy, Suicide.

Are we soon only chunks of stamped meat which can be freely registered, controlled and manipulated by corrupt bureaucrats?

Force, gentle
"Gentle force is more draining than being persuaded or pressed. To persuade somebody simply is the attempt to guide a mind with logic arguments. To exert pressure is obvious, too. It means: I want that you do this. I have power over you, so do what I want. Gentle force tries to checkmate our rational thinking, so we act against - or without - better knowledge. If we get entangled in a force system, we act completely uncontrolled. We act mechanically, far away from all reason.
But what is wrong in reacting instinctively? Nothing if this are our own instrincts. Usually intuition and emotions are as important as the intellect when decisions are made. But in an environment which contains forces, our instincts are just another way to reach our control buttons." (Douglas Rushkoff, re-translated)

Freedom
Asked by the "Spiegel" magazine about the political course of Germany in the next year, the chancellor said it will be continued but much, much more free than before. WHAT!!! EVEN MORE free?!... Even more free than the plan to register and store every car movement?... And more free than the newly published plan to introduce a closing hour for all young people under 14 years after eight o' clock in the evening? And even more free than video cameras supervising every step?... So what?... Indeed, our free democracy surprises us almost daily with new ways of freedom! Can we bear so much freedom much longer? - Soon we could even be as free as the cattle on the fields: with the identifying clip in the ear. (...) The politics become more and more impertinent, politicians make mistakes and the citizens have to pay for them. (From the Forum "Methods of manipulation" (now closed). "Officials busily collecting data"
In this country the brown shit reaches already the upper limit...

From Terry Gilliam's "Brazil"

"But I don't want comfort. I want God, I want poetry, I want real danger, I want freedom, I want goodness. I want sin."

"In fact," said Mustapha Mond, "you're claiming the right to be unhappy."

"All right then," said the Savage defiantly, "I'm claiming the right to be unhappy."

"Not to mention the right to grow old and ugly and impotent; the right to have syphilis and cancer; the right to have too little to eat; the right to be lousy; the right to live in constant apprehension of what may happen tomorrow; the right to catch typhoid; the right to be tortured by unspeakable pains of every kind."

There was a long silence.

"I claim them all," said the Savage at last.

Mustapha Mond shrugged his shoulders. "You're welcome," he said.
