Subject: Re: Asimov Site Returns! From: cturley Newsgroups: comp.sys.apple2 03 Oct 2000 21:22:51 GMT Indeed, Jolin does deserve a BIG toast for his efforts with keeping the old Asimov mirror up and running to fill the temp gap when the original was offline in the past. Itıs rather amazing how the Asimov original site being offline for the past few months has stimulated so many new and pending (in-the-works) A2 sites to be developed for the needs of the online A2 world today - for both REAL A2 computers and all their emulator users also. I donıt see that the QC (etc.) efforts really did much more than agrivate the A2 majority into a multitude of mega-action so to speak. I guess we should thank him for that :) - even though that wasnıt really what he had in mind! With the NEW Georgia ŒWhiteRabbitı ftp site (almost finished now with a mirror of the current and original Asimov) and much more soon to become available from it.....URL ref. ftp://128.61.35.35/pub/appleii/ (about a dozen others sites that Iım aware of also) - for both public and private access -- Iıd say the rest of this year and the entire next year for the majority of A2 users online - will be a real TREAT of selections to choose from for their development, user and hobbist needs - in general. I have a NEW IP and server also (thanks to Mike Pike) - that Iıll be moving my own web site and itıs entire contents to soon with several domain names: apple2.net charlesturley.com charlesturley.net charlesturley.org And..of course the NEW Tarnover web site (Thanks to Celt!)...so, the future of an active and productive online A2 user world (without control freaks) seems VERY BRIGHT! Cheers, Tom
