It not only does speech but can generate sounds and play music. To get mine to speak I need to first boot the machine with their software and then I can exit to the OS. Try this stuff at the prompt to see if it works with yours - &TALK, "I AM A SPEECH SYNTHESIZER" this is an example of the phonetics - &PHN, "! AM @ SP&C SIN)US!Z'R" If I can help, let me know - Now, my question to the group is - Where can I find disc images of a sound program that would let me just type in notes and output music and also a program that I create and edit sound effects with. There is a sound editor on the ECHO+ disc but it is lacking a few features. The instruction book points to third party software yet fails to give an example.
