Meantime, track down a program called ADT122 which is designed to transfer disk images ( *.dsk files) between a PC and an Apple 2. Guess the best way to find the stuff is to search the net using GOODLE for Apple stuff. Eventually you'll find references to sites which contain some emulators and the disk images they use to run programs. An FTP site called ASIMOV has about everything, but recently it went down, they have a working mirror at: ftp://mirror.apple.asimov.net/ Another site which is useful: ftp://ground.ecn.uiowa.edu/ One of those should have ADT122, and a lot more. ProDos is the most recent OS, Dos 3.3 is older and has a lot of old, good stuff for it. You'll want disk images of both of those & Copy II Plus (disk utility) at least. You will need a "proper" serial cable (described in the file), a PC which runs DOS, an Apple 2 (not sure which variants it will run on, mine was an enhanced 2e), a super serial card, and one 5 1/4 apple drive. This was how I made my first disks a few months ago. It worked well for me. If you don't have a serial card there is an article which shows how to make a cable connecting the PC to Apple 2 via the Apple 2 gameport, but I have not tried that (it is another program to transfer files, not ADT, AFAIK). Instead, I just bought a serial card on ebay. They are easy to find on ebay and shouldn't cost more that $6ish dollars (before shipping).
