THE EINSTEIN COMPILER BY D. GOODROW & S. EINSTEIN (C) 1983 THE EINSTEIN CORPORATION VERSION 5.2 Status: Freeware Distribution: May be distributed as non-commercial in the Apple II ShrinkIt - disk archive file format and in Apple II disk image format for use with Apple II emulators. The .SDK is a ShrinkIt disk archive. Use ShrinkIt v3.4 to unshrink it to a 5.25 Apple II 140k disk. The .DSK file is a disk image file of ÔThe Einstein CompilerÕ for use with Apple II disk emulators. Both should be downloaded as binary files. Here is some more information for users of ÔThe Einstein CompilerÕ. My special thanks to Rubywand for sending this user information. --------------------------------------------------------- Notes on using ÔThe Einstein CompilerÕ Something that is useful to know is that the Einstein disk is kind of weird. When you do a CATALOG under DOS 3.3 the files show zero length. Also, it is not supposed to be bootable. You are supposed to be in DOS 3.3 with the program you want to compile loaded. Then, you stick in the Einstein disk and enter BRUN EINSTEIN. Once Einstein starts working on a program, do not open the drive door, press Reset, or turn OFF the computer. If necessary to halt compilation, press Control-C. (If the Einstein disk should be messed up, you can try to rebuild it by booting DOS 3.3, inserting the Einstein disk, and entering BRUN REMAKE COMPILER DISK.) -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Until I receive an email noting the freeware status and varification from the program author Dennis Goodrow - to include in this folder, he has given me authorization to make both the ShrinkIt disk archive and the disk image file available for public access, download and use - as noted above. I will gladly furnish tel. contact information for Dennis Goodrow for anybody that seeks varification on the program freeware status and authorization allowing itÕs online distribution by me from this folder - by email request. Cheers & Enjoy! Tom ---------------------------- Charles T. ÔDr. TomÕ Turley GS WorldView Editor Email: cturley@grin.net
