As I may have been in any of the articles when I replied I don't know to whom I may have sent the messages. Anyway, here goes again. I asked whether you had contacted tech support at Intrec. Intrec is among the few Apple II vendors who still support their Apple II products. Their web site is www.intrec.com, tech support e-mail is proterm@intrec.com, and the tech support phone no. is (602)992-1345. Have you registered your copy of ProTerm with them? You have already clicked on the dial drop down menu and selected create system to set up a dial-up no. on ProTerm, haven't you? There are 2 screens I know of which set the parms for your ProTerm session. They are the edit system parts screen which appears when you dial a phone no. you have already set up as a dial-up no., and the on-line parameters screen which appears when you click on the online drop down menu and select Parameters. In my experience the edit system parms screen sets the parms for the particular dial-up no., and the on-line parameters screen sets the parms in general for all on-line sessions under ProTerm. Evidently, the edit system parms screen can reset parms for a particular dial-up no., and in that sense can override the on-line parameters screen re that particular dial-up no. My current settings in my edit system parms screen are baud rate:38400, data format:8N1, duplex:full, break time 50/100, emulate: DEC VT-100, delete key:emulate, backspace:emulate, status bar checked, connect time 45 seconds, and I chose the filename when I set up the dial-up no. The other parm fields were left blank. The settings in my on-line parameters screen agree with the corresponding fields in the edit system parms screen, and the last 2 settings are auto protocol start:none, line status:online. This is what works for me; I don't know if it helps you. Jim O'Reilly
