Well, after seeing how people wanted a JPEG converter, and seeing that I've worked on porting one to the GS a few months back. I'll just release what I have so far! I tried to get a few alpha/beta testers but only one person ever responded with errors and criticism, so I figured it wasn't worth my time anymore and decide to move on. Plus this semester, my courses haven't been to easy to begin with, and I just don't have the time I want to sit and program! I will probably not update this or fix any bugs, unless there's enough demand to do so. So enjoy it in its current state... With that all said and done...its current state so far is; 1. Gifs do not encode properly! (well, not at all I believe!) 2. Gifs do not decode properly. Better than the encode, at least a picture is created! It has a bad ending, but you should be able to view it! (now the picture it creates is another story, and there's a few bugs there!) 3. SLOW SLOW SLOW!! On average it takes about 20 minutes to either decode or encode a file (depending on the file!)... On the good side, my one alpha tester said it works with GNO! Don't take my word for it...I can't confirm or deny this. Opps, should of also mentioned that was on a 10Mhz Zip by the way! Took me about ~27 minutes on my 7Mhz TWGS! (so get ready for a looong wait!) The speed (or rather lack of it) is probably 'the main' reason why I terminated this project! Whats included in this file; (ohh, by the way these are shell cmds) Read.Me - Thats what your reading! cjpeg - compress file into a jpeg file. djpeg - decodes a jpeg file.
