*** Customize your GS/OS - System 6.0.1 *** =========================================== Welcome Utilities v5.0 Status: Freeware =========================================== Custom GS/OS originally by Paul Gauthier; modified by the Ronin. SplashEdit v5.0 written by Rolf Braun, Sassy Software. Release Date: 25 September 1994 Files in this release: CUSTOM.GSOS.DOC The docs for the original CustomGSOS CustomGSOS The modified CustomGSOS READ.ME What you are reading right now SAMPLE.PICS Various pictures for use with CustomGSOS SplashEdit The NEW SplashEdit v5.0 The main change between v4.0 and v5.0 is that SplashEdit was COMPLETELY rewritten as a GS/OS application this time. This means that you now see the real Super Hi-Res colors as they are supposed to look. Also, you can now make simple patterns with SplashEdit. These programs work ONLY with System 6.0.1. In fact, SplashEdit will refuse to run under any previous version of GS/OS. Although this is not checked for, donÕt even THINK about trying to modify a START.GS.OS file earlier than System 6.0.1 with these utilities! For more information about how to use Custom GS/OS, please read the CustomGSOS.Doc file. To use SplashEdit, launch it from your favorite program launcher. A small window will appear with four small boxes and one large box below it. The small boxes are Òfat pixelsÓ boxes where you can edit your pattern. Select a color from the Colors menu, and click in all four boxes for a solid color, or just a few for a pattern. The box below shows what your pattern will look like. Then, select ÒSave START.GS.OSÓ from the File menu, and find your copy of START.GS.OS. Modify only a backup - never the original! To find out what colors are in a particular copy of START.GS.OS, you can use the ÒOpen START.GS.OSÓ option. Have fun with these utilities!
