GS WorldView Editor Note: Please read the following question and answer that was posted to the comp.system.apple2 Usenet newsgroup. Babar has made it absolutely clear that he 'IS NOT' doing any sort of mass production of 'The ET Card -aka- Ethernet card for the Apple II. He will be working on the development of software programs for use with it, as he outlined in the other text file in this folder. The required information, program, schematic and card graphics have been furnish with the sources for all parts to allow any person to make their own prototype Ethernet card for the Apple II or IIgs computers. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Subject: Re: New Ethernet card for the Apple II From: Babar de Saint Cyr Newsgroups: comp.sys.apple2 Date: Wed, 08 Sep 1999 22:29:27 +0200 Organization: Wanadoo, l'internet avec France Telecom Lines: 20 Message-ID: <37D6C727.CA037176@SPAM_wanadoo.fr> References: <37D4436C.E1F932A1@SPAM_wanadoo.fr> <19990908023148.12564.00003134@ng-fp1.aol.com> NNTP-Posting-Host: ca-sqy4-1.abo.wanadoo.fr Mime-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit X-Trace: wanadoo.fr 936822778 4071 164.138.163.1 (8 Sep 1999 20:32:58 GMT) X-Complaints-To: abuse@wanadoo.fr NNTP-Posting-Date: 8 Sep 1999 20:32:58 GMT X-Mailer: Mozilla 4.6 [fr] (Win98; I) X-Accept-Language: fr ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- > are you planning to mass produce these Ethernet > cards for the Apple II? Absolutely not. I have no time, no possibility. But to built it is simple: - the ethernet module - any test/prototype board you can find for Apple2 - two well know low cost TTL chips Doable by any hobbist. To reduce cost you can imaging an unique printed board with all componants but: - some componants are difficult to find (at least in France) - stay with the problem to solder CS8900 chip (maybe with a support?)
