GS/OS refuses to support the older firmware revisions on the original Apple SCSI card, mainly due to bugs and lack of features in the old versions. I'm not sure how far back this is checked: certainly System 6.0.x, probably 5.0.x, and possibly even 4.0 will refuse to support old firmware in this card. To use the card with recent system software you should upgrade it to the revision C firmware. You may be able to find someone who can send you a new ROM for the card, or if you know someone who has access to an EPROM programmer, I can send you a file which contains the appropriate image. (You would need a 27C128 EPROM.) For reference: the part number printed on the ROM indicates the firmware revision: Revision A is 341-0112A Revision B is 341-0112B Revision C is 341-0437-A (I still don't know how I can remember those numbers after all these years!) -- David Empson dempson@actrix.gen.nz Snail mail: P.O.
