The StuffIt 4.0 archive in the folder below contains the Macintosh system extension file: Dynafile. It's used as the custom driver to allow the DynaFile 5.25 SCSI interfaced disk drive to mount, be perceived and used by any Macintosh model from the Mac SE thru, up to and including the Quadra models. Any standard SCSI rear connector port on any such Mac 68k model will be able to use the DynaFile 5.25" disk drive with the Dynafile extension file in the system extension folder. First downloaded from the Dynafile ftp site, this StuffIt archive was protected with a password when it was unstuffed from the DynaFile.sea. No reply from the ftp site support email was sent when I requested it. So, I applied a Password removal patch to the archive before unstuffing it. I used the word in all caps: LOVE. It asked me to revarify it and type it in again, which I did. Then it allowed the Dynafile system extension file to be unstuffed with no more problems. The way the password removal patch worked allows the user who unstuffs the archive to enter any password they wish and this should allow the Stuffit 4.0 archive: DAYNAFILE.V3.1.SIT to unstuff without any problem. Ref. URL ftp://eccentrica.org/drtom/Mac.5.25.disk.drive/DAYNAFILE.V3.1.SIT Remember to always download all files from this ftp site as raw binary only. BTW, this unique and rare DynaFile 5.25" SCSI interface disk drive should allow your Mac 68k model to format any type of 5.25" disk in any format your Mac system will support. I would conclude this would allow it to read 5.25" disks from the DynaFile disk drive also such as ProDOS, DOS 3.3 (perhaps even DOS 3.2 or PC DOS platform formatted disks. I guess the only way to find out is to have one of these rare 5.25" DynaFile SCSI interface disk drives connected to your Mac 68k model and have the Dynafile extension installed in your system extension folder. Well, that's all I can relate on this archive and what's it's used for. I wish you luck with your efforts at using the DynaFile 5.25" SCSI interfaced disk drive with much success, productivity and enjoyment. Cheers, Dr. Tom
