The ADB modems lasted for only a very short length of time. They required a Mac with the special software "drivers" to make it work. These will not work with a GS Some modems plugged into the serial post _and_ the ADB port. These modems (designed for laptops) grabbed power from the ADB port. These will work with a GS. The GeoPort modems won't work with the GS really. They use the same minidin serial connector, but there is an extra pin. I think the GeoPort came into vogue with the first generation PowerMacs, or maybe the later Quadra series? -- Don Pattee (t-donpat) Program Manager, BED Training (425)703-2255x14799 A hacker does for love, what others would not do for money.
