Look up "Rhapsody" and "NeXT" on the web.  Mac X
was code named Rhapsody and was really an Apple
"Macitized" version of NeXTstep/OpenStep, the PC
OS based on UNIX that has been available for years.

As you might know, Steve Jobs' company was making
a PC operating system before Apple bought it out.
Steve Jobs, that supposedly Mac diehard, actually
uses an IBM Thinkpad.  ;-)
