Each Vulcan had an interface card that only supported its own IDE size and smaller. You'll have problems trying to replace the 40MB mechanism with a larger one. Chances are, your IIGS will still see it as a 40MB hard drive. The solution is to replace the interface card. SHH Systeme (you can find them on the web by searching their name) makes the "MicroDrive IDE card" which can take practically any size IDE drive. This is what you want to get. The alternative is to replace the Vulcan with a Focus internal hard drive. Prices start at $59. Check http://www.allelec.com/ Alltech Electronics for more info.
