About Gzpk GT

 This program converts gzip archives to pkzip archives.

 There are three ways to choose the file to be converted:

 - Double-click a Finder icon (you'll have to edit the pathname to wherever
   you stick the program).

 - Pass the filename to the program with a shell (like Davex) or other
   programs that support the startup buffer.

 - Startup the program normally and use the browse-king mini-browser. This
   one lets you convert multiple files before exiting.

About The Browser
-----------------

 The browser will initially only show direcories and files that end in '.gz',
 pressing Cmd-Rtn will switch it to a mode that also shows any text or binary
 files. Hit it again to switch it back.

 In addition:

 - Tab lets you select from a list of volumes.

 - Cmd-Left or Cmd-Right switches to the next online volume.

 - Esc exits.

 - Return or Right selects a file or directory.

 - Left backs up a directory level.

Notes
-----

 The program currently does not support the following features of gzip:

 - Encryption.

 - Extra fields.

 - Multiple parts.

 This shouldn't be too big a hardship since I haven't actually seen a gzip
 archive that used these features. I wrote the original code for this a few
 years ago so maybe something has changed, if so you can try reaching me at

 - Qfix 2.0     If limiting filenames to A-Z & 0-9 was such a good idea, why
                does MacOS allow you more? Reclaim those extra characters and
                fight the power!
